A Message from the Head Teacher

Welcome to our school. It is an honour and privilege to be the Head Teacher of our community primary school that nurtures and develops children from the age of 2 to 11. We are a single form entry school with a nursery and pre-school.

At Warren Hills we strive to create well-rounded individuals who are happy, confident, and independent learners. Our motto of aspire, nurture, grow runs through the school and all children are able to articulate ways in which this is achieved. We are also a ‘Routes to Resilience’ school, it is our mission to develop 30 characteristics within each of our children; which strongly underpin British values.

Beginning in our 60 place nursery, children follow a topic based curriculum that enhances their learning, preparing them for entry into primary school. The staff in nursery and the reception class can overlap and are all are prominent throughout the day in early years which eases the transition for children into the school.

Without exception, all of our staff put the children at the heart of all that they do; preparing them for life and schooling beyond Warren Hills. We have been working hard to enhance the nurturing aspect of the school and we are very proud of the good reputation that we have gained in the local area for inclusivity and our Nurture Class. The academic progress made from attainment at Year 2 to Year 6 is regularly above the national average, demonstrating the high quality of teaching across the school.

Within school we have two qualified Forest School practitioners. We further enhance the curriculum by offering Djembe drumming, violin and ukulele within some year groups. Having a qualified sports coach as a member of our team means that children have enhanced P.E, swimming and games teaching.

Our community is a special one, and I would very much welcome the opportunity to discuss this in greater depth with current or prospective parents. Please take a moment to look at our Twitter and Facebook feeds at the foot of the home page for a taster of school life along with the videos in the Warren Hills TV section. If you would like to explore further the ‘Warren Hills Way’ then please do not hesitate to make an appointment to see our school for yourself.
