History Statement of Intent
At Warren Hills, our intent is that in the teaching of history the pupils will be taught the knowledge of the National Curriculum in a chronological, order that deepens their understanding of the British Isles and of the wider world around them. Alongside this, the pupils will also be taught key historical concepts that will enable them to develop their skills of thinking in an evaluative manner; by being critical thinkers of the past; allowing them to sift through and weigh evidence and arguments and finally measuring the impact and success of key civilisations. Due to history being an investigative and enquiry- based subject, at Warren Hills we aim for the children to answer enquiry-based questions that will allow the children to think in a perceptively and to make judgements for themselves.
