Supporting other schools

Mr Lloyd went to Whitwick St John the Baptist school at the end of last term to support a seaside and kite flying day. Their Headteacher, Christine Killip wrote "Thank you so much for coming to do the Punch and Judy shows. The staff were overwhelming in their praise for what you and the children did. I think it has inspired them again.  The children loved the shows and I am expecting to see lots of them having a go themselves following your performances". Their pupils also wrote letters of thanks, here's one of them.

We've also had a lovely letter of thanks from St Mary's Catholic Primary School in Bodmin following delivery of their Puppet Theatre. We're glad you're enjoying it!

Mr Lloyd delivered another set of Puppet Theatres to schools in Cornwall recently, funded by a charitable grant....here he is preparing to go to Lanivet Community Primary School, Nanstallon Community Primary School, St Marys Catholic Primary School, Robartes Junior School, The Beacon Infant & Nursery School, St Petrocs CofE Primary School and Berrycoombe Primary School (who kindly hosted Mr Lloyd on the day) We'll let you know how they're getting on with them.

We had great feedback from his previous visit to a number of Cornish schools last year. Here's an example

Dear Mr Lloyd,

Please find attached some photographs of our children enjoying the puppet theatre.

We have been using the theatre in many ways at school.  We have used the puppets with the children both within and outside the theatre.  The puppets have also been used with our feeder pre school.  They have been very useful in assemblies. There is such a wide variety of puppets that there seems to be one for every occasion!  We are looking forward to using the Christmas story puppets in the next few weeks.

The theatre has been used to deliver plays across the whole school as part of the literacy curriculum. Staff have performed in the theatre as a starting point for lessons. The children have made their own puppets and performed plays in the theatre.  In my class these plays have been filmed and then presented to parents in a school assembly.

The children have also found the theatre a lovely place to ‘chill out’ with their friends or a quiet place to go and read.

The theatre has certainly enhanced teaching and learning in our school and we thank you for the kind donation.

Yours sincerely,
